SOA Memorial Day Events Update – As you know, each year the SOA partners with The Village of Baytowne Wharf to host two significant events on Memorial Day weekend; the Bill Dowdle Fishing Rodeo on Saturday morning and the Memorial Day Tribute on Monday evening. With the social distancing restrictions remaining in place, both of these events have been cancelled.
Over the last two months, staff and all of the parties involved have been monitoring the changes of the County and State Orders to determine if these events should occur, keeping the safety of our owners, guests, and staff in mind. With both requiring advance planning and coordination with local community members and volunteers, it was determined that these events just wouldn’t be possible this year. This decision was not taken lightly and we hope you understand our position. Please plan to join us in 2021 for both of these events.
