SOA Updates – COVID-19

April 2, 2020 – On April 1st the Governor of FL issued Executive Order 20-91 (Essential Services and Activities During COVID-19) requesting all non-essential persons to shelter in place or stay at home effective at midnight on April 2, 2020.  Click here to read additional information and how it affects the Sandestin community.

SOA office will remain closed to the public through May 1.  Effective Monday, April 6, office staff will be working a limited schedule to assist members via email and phone.  Additional information regarding the hours available and contact emails/phone numbers will be posted here on Monday.  

With the order in place, Walton County has suspended recycling services.  The recycling dumpster will be removed from Administration Drive and return when the order is lifted.  Until that time, all recyclables should be disposed of in the same manner as your household garbage.

March 27, 2020 – The FL Governor issued an Executive Order that temporarily restricts check-ins for short term rentals. For additional information regarding this restriction or what to do if you have concerns regarding it not being followed,  followed, click here.

March 24, 2020 – Effective Wednesday, March 25, 2020, the SOA office will be closed with only essential personnel reporting to work, which includes Security and Sanitation (trash pick-up) staff.  All other departments will remain closed until April 6, 2020.   Communication will be sent via email and posted on our website page, should this change.   If you have an urgent matter, please email soa@soaowners.com and we will respond as quickly as possible.   To view a copy of the full update, use the below.  

March 24, 2020 SOA Update COVID-19 

The March 26, 2020 SOA Board of Directors meeting has been cancelled. (Those that signed up to serve on an SOA Committee will receive email communication within the week.  We appreciate your patience.) 

Access to the community remains open for owners, guests, employees, and contractors, unless otherwise noted below.

The beach is closed for non-beachfront condo owners access. SOA pedestrian access walkways will be blocked off effective March 24, 2020.   Please note, the access and use of the beach for all owners and their guests is via an easement from the various beach front entities.   SOA does not own any portion of the beach as common area.

Owners of units in the beach front condominiums should contact their association manager directly for information regarding the status of the beach adjacent to your condominium building.   

We urge owners to utilize the following resources for the most up to date information regarding precautionary recommendations and mandates as changes occur frequently.

March 23, 2020SOA COVID-19 Update

March 22, 2020 – Sandestin Investments has announced that they are no longer accepting rental guest check ins or reservations until April 6.    If guests that are already checked in would like to stay, they are welcome.   Anyone scheduled to arrive prior to April 6 should contact Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort reservations department. 

The SOA is not aware of any other rental companies that have changed their normal operating procedures.  Owners and guests should contact the rental management company directly for additional information regarding any changes.   

The Sandestin Investments Beach Club and pool and the pool at Bayside at Sandestin are closed.    Two of the golf courses will remain open, if demand allows, with single person golf carts available.  the Spa and fitness centers are closed, as well as the Burnt Pine Club.

March 20, 2020 – SOA COVID-19 Update

March 19, 2020 – Walton County has issued an emergency order closing all public beaches.  This includes the boardwalks and bathroom facilities at public beach accesses.   While the beaches at Sandestin are private, SOA has posted signs at the beach access walkovers to remind owners and guests of social distancing recommendations.  The SOA does not own any beach area; therefore, is not authorized do close access.

The SOA pools are both closed at this time.

Welcome to the Sandestin Owners Association!

The SOA is a non-profit property owners association, which is responsible for, but not necessarily limited to, operating and maintaining the following:

  • Sanitation
  • Most master storm water drainage systems
  • The bicycle and walking paths
  • Security
  • Most Roadways
  • Landscaping of the common properties and the master irrigation systems
  • Lake Maintenance
  • Architectural Review Board
  • Two swimming pool facilities that are heated in the fall/winter months – One is across from Linkside Village on Audubon Drive (SOA Pool 1) and the Phil Hummel Aquatic Center (previously SOA Pool 2), which is by the  Baytowne Traffic Circle next to Bay Pines.   Both are open daily from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. 

We have designed this website to help you quickly become familiar with the Sandestin Owners Association (SOA) operations and keep you updated on community projects, meetings, and news.
